Everpanels : Sustainability Through Reuse
When looking into environmental sustainability, cutting consumption or reducing waste when you are purchasing, it’s extremely likely that you’ll come across the following 3 R’s:
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.
These three words describe the main components of environmentally-responsible consumer behaviour.
But there are in fact six R's that product designers must keep in mind regarding the environment. The extra Rs are:
Rethink Repair Refuse
and they encourage creating products which are built to last - Like EverPanels!
Ultimately, this points towards the fact that recycling, (while preferable to producing landfill waste) should actually be the second priority after reusing.
What is the difference between reuse and recycling?
Recycling means turning an item into raw materials which can be used again, usually for a completely new product. This is an energy consuming procedure.
Reusing refers to using an object as it is without treatment. This reduces pollution and waste, thus making it a more sustainable process.
Examples of recycled items include fibreglass made from glass bottles, and insulation materials made from newspaper or plastic bottles. Reused items include anything that can be put back into the purchasing system that can be used again and again. e.g. was bought second hand, often furniture and clothing.
Everpanels can be reused, repurposed and recycled.
The reusing process is not about repurposing the materials an object is made of, but repurposing the very object itself. This includes reusing them for another purpose or selling used Everpanels rather than discarding them. See our Buy Back Scheme
Everblocks UK offer a platforms that can aid this through allowing users sell back to us any unwanted Everpanels that are still in any condition. We can then use these to Hire to other users and/or re-sell these as used Everpanels for an entirely new user and purpose. See our Buy Back Scheme
Reusing is far better than recycling because it saves the energy that comes with having to dismantle and re-manufacture products. It also significantly reduces waste and pollution because it reduces the need for raw materials, saving both forests and water supplies.
The market benefits from Reuse.
Everblocks UK can help you with reuse and recycling
Everblocks UK offer the chance for you to buy a product that is all about re-using, re-purposing and re-configuring again and again.
We firstly offer a free lifetime Design service for users of Everblocks products to help them easily to re-purposing and re-configure the blocks they have into different uses. (e.g. partition wall, can be re-made into a sofa, a bar, a stage or an external play house!!)
Secondly we offer a buy back service so blocks, Everpanels and flooring can be reused by somebody else entirely who buys them second hand
Thirdly, we can add them to our Rental stock to be used again and again prior to being sold of as used blocks
Finally, only Everpanels that are damaged beyond repair, will be recycled and we do this by sorting blocks on-site and transporting them to recycling facilities. This allows for a higher recycling rate than delivering all materials in one go.
Whenever possible, however, our team opts for the more sustainable option: reusing.
Contact Everblocks UK today to see how you can use Everblocks within your organization and how the blocks can be Reused, repurposed and recycled again and again.
